About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the full
project lifecycle—from equipemtn delievred from manufacturer to
installation, commissioning on site, and final handover—ensuring
projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality
standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in
marine/shipping/shipbuilding/retrofitting projects,
and the ability to manage cross-functional teams while coordinating with
clients, shipyards, and classification societies.

Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management
- Serve as the primary
point of contact for project execution, ensuring compliance with timelines,
budgets, and client expectations.
- Develop comprehensive
project plans, including scope, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Report regularly to
senior management on progress, financial risks, and technical challenges.
2. Team Leadership
- Build and lead a team,
assigning tasks and fostering collaboration.
- Provide training and
mentorship to enhance team capabilities.
3. Execution Oversight
- Monitor project progress,
adjust resources as needed, and enforce quality/HSE standards.
- Implement risk management
strategies to mitigate project disruptions.
4. Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with shipowners,
shipyards, classification societies (e.g., DNV, ABS), and internal teams to
resolve issues.
- Maintain client
relationships through transparent communication and problem-solving.
5. Financial & Compliance
- Control project costs,
track payments, and ensure profitability targets are met.
- Oversee project closeout,
including documentation, final inspections, and settlements.
Candidate profile
- Education and background
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Marine/Electrical/Naval Architeture or related field.
- Experience
of retrofit and newbuilding – e.g. from marine sub-supply industry.
- 10+ years in marine
project management, with exposure to shipbuilding, shipyard,
retrofitting,
or Marine industries.
- Ship
and/or shipyard operational experience.
- Project management qualification preferred.
- Knowledge and attributes
- Proven track record
managing multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
- Familiarity with
classification society rules and shipyard operations.
- International work
experience is a plus.
- Fluent in English and
Mandarin (written/spoken, Min of CET4).
- Strong leadership,
problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Adaptability to
high-pressure environments.
- Able and willing to sail onboard with
vessels and international travel to client sites, shipyards.
