Job Description: As a UX writer, you will play a critical role in shaping the voice and tone of the client’s digital products. You will work closely with clients and our internal language team to ensure that the content is clear, consistent, and user-friendly. Your primary focus will be on translating and writing UX contents, managing language assets, and ensuring the quality of translations.
Key Responsibilities:
- UX writing:
- Translate the UX contents from Simplified Chinese into English based on the provided context and product inputs.
- Write and optimize microcopy, including buttons, labels, error messages, and onboarding instructions.
- Ensure translations/microcopies are accurate, culturally appropriate, and maintain the intended meaning and tone.
- Client Communication:
- Engage with clients to understand their target products and specific content requirements.
- Gather and incorporate client feedback into the writing and translation process.
- Language Assets Management:
- Create, update, and manage language assets such as glossaries and finalized translations.
- Ensure consistency and quality across all language assets.
- Storyboarding and Instructions:
- Develop storyboards and detailed instructions for follow-up multi-language translation projects.
- Collaborate with translators to ensure accurate and contextually appropriate translations.
- Proofreading:
- Review and proofread translations provided by clients.
- Ensure translations are free from errors and align with the overall product voice and tone.
- Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a translator, copywriter, UX writer, or similar role.
- Excellent command of Simplified Chinese and English.
- Strong understanding of UX principles and best practices.
- Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging, and user-friendly content.
- Experience with localization and translation processes.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
