Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute experiments for the expression and purification of recombinant proteins using mammalian cells.
Develop and implement innovative strategies for cell line development, protein expression and purification to achieve high yield, purity and functionality.
Lead a team of scientists and technicians, providing guidance and mentorship in protein science methodologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development of biologics, with a focus on early-stage research.
Analyze and interpret data, prepare technical reports, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
Stay abreast of the latest scientific and technological advancements in the field of protein science and cell engineering.
Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio of the company by generating new ideas and filing patents where applicable.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
Ph.D. or MS degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Structural Biology, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in protein expression and purification, preferably in an industrial setting.
Proven track record with mammalian cell culture, and cell line engineering to enhance protein expression.
Expertise in a variety of protein purification techniques (e.g., affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion chromatography, etc.).
Familiarity with automation and high-throughput techniques for protein expression and purification.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in analytical techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, HPLC, and mass spectrometry.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with a proven record of scientific publications, presentations and conferences.
Experience with biophysical characterization of proteins and assessment of protein-protein interactions.
